History
Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association was CREATED
More than eight years ago, at the specific request of representatives of the City of Harrisburg, volunteers came together to plan an annual event to promote the heritage and culture of the local Irish community.

Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association has EVOLVED
We now provide a common focus to all the local Irish organizations active in central Pennsylvania for the coordination of resources to promote Irish heritage and culture.

Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association has ARRIVED
The primary, but certainly not the exclusive, Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association function is the planning, preparation and organization of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Harrisburg in mid-March. This Parade typically involves over 90 participating groups viewed by more than 25,000 spectators and community leaders. This celebration is part of a week of activities that honor our collective ethnic heritage.

Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association has MORE TO GIVE
More importantly, Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association serves as a year-round resource for students, educators and parents. We provide opportunities for students and other participants to engage in ongoing cultural, religious, historical, economic, and political issues of heritage in the central Pennsylvania area.

We have been to high schools, colleges, international festivals and community dances to share our collective experience as Irish in Pennsylvania. Organized activities include guest lectures, dance demonstrations, community open-forums, discussion panels, and historical and heritage-based instruction and training for the community upon request.

Harrisburg Saint Patrick's Day Parade Association needs YOU
Our focus is to draw attention in central Pennsylvania communities to our ethnic and heritage-based issues. But, more importantly, we promote understanding between neighborhood and community heritage groups and work to eliminate prejudice and discrimination throughout our community.

Please join us in our efforts to make our Central Pennsylvania communities a better place to live. For more information, please call:
